My name is Mario, I'm from Brazil. The first time I heard Soumitra Thakur was playing the Sitar in posts on Instagram and I was very impressed with the clarity of the sound and the poetry that emerged from his hands and his instrument. After some time in search of an Indian teacher who could guide me, I decided to send him a message. I was answered very quickly and gently. From then on, we continue with weekly classes, via Skype, and I confess that these are very challenging meetings, but that propel me in the search for a consistent evolution. In my opinion Soumitra ji is not only an exceptional Sitar player but a great teacher and a human being who inspires us by his knowledge, his firmness and his kindness. He is a teacher who has a great methodology, is very demanding and generous. It is a real blessing from heaven to have him as a Master.

I started working out with Kaavita, three years back as a student. It not only helped me improve my physical well being but helped me become a better version of myself. I used to look forward to the classes eagerly. They were super challenging and relaxing at the same time. This was a rare combination to find. After that, I decided to do a certification course with her as I was completely hooked to yoga by then. The teachers training course was an enriching experience where I got to learn about the wonders of human body and how yoga beautifully defines it. The session also became a leeway for me to express what I felt in the most constructive manner. The in-depth knowledge about the technique and form showed me how yoga engages each and every muscle of your body. In the middle of my course, the lockdown happened and it did not deter us from continuing and finishing the course online. The video calls sessions were super effective and fun. My TTC experience with Kavita at Yoga chakra is a time in my life that I will treasure for ever. I evolved more mentally and spiritually in those days. My understanding and relationship with yoga has fundamentally changed and I have a much deeper connection to the practice and within myself which I can now enjoy and explore confidently in my own practice and integrate into my life at home. The Pink Lotus Academia has a very positive atmosphere with fabulous artists as mentors. I'm grateful to be able to practice sitar under the guidance of my mentor, Soumitra Sir who always helps me grow and keep pushing me to become better in my art everyday.

I had the opportunity to visit The Pink Lotus Academia in my recent visit to New Delhi. The founders Shri Soumitra Thakur and Smt Kavita Das are one of the most humble people you will come across.The studio has a positive and homely vibe and makes you feel at ease right from the moment you step in. The Aerial yoga program at PLA is one of the very few quality programs in entire Delhi NCR. They also offer programs on string instruments, percussion , yoga , dance , meditation etc. PLA also conducts masterclasses by industry renowned veterans like Yashwant Vaishnav ranging across interest areas such as Tabla and many other areas.All the faculty members are super friendly and also experts in their own areas. For sitar enthusiasts especially, any opportunity to learn from an artist as coveted as Shri Soumitra Thakur should be grabbed with both hands. My highest recommendation for Pink Lotus Academia for all kinds of music/yoga/dance/meditation programs. I can assure you that you won't be disappointed. The best part is some of their programs have online mode also.This is a boon for students outside Delhi NCR to also participate and learn. I’ve been attached to the Pink Lotus for 2 years now, starting with online yoga during the lockdown after going through a flurry of independent teachers. I’ve never needed to look anywhere post - the teachers, the staff and the ambience is all geared towards genuine care and commitment towards each persons progress. I’ve moved on to Aerial Yoga offline and since have been able to overcome a lot of pain and limitations from a past injury that I had started to give up on. Shaan, the instructor is fantastic! There is also the sweetest doggie there to greet you and remind you to always smile and relax! It’s the perfect safe space to reconnect with one’s body and collective spirit of getting better together 🎈

The Pink Lotus Academia is absolutely fantastic! I have joined only one month back for yoga classes. Just love the vibe of the place so peaceful and so calming.
